FREE ART= GUERRILLA ART?

Why is it so often seen as being something illegal/ underground?

This article brings up artists such as Banksy (graffiti) and the Guerrilla Girls (performance art) and how they relate politics:

I guess through our blitzing places with writing (‘free art’) we could do that? depends what direction we want to take this project in but i think we have to specifically decide exactly where we are going (especially after seeing how specific all the other class projects are) and WHY. Perhaps our intentions would have to be clear to our intended audience so we could elicit some sort of specific response.

Just an idea x

Creative Industries here we come.

I really think this prettying up of the blog has something to say about mass culture and the constant demand for aesthetic bettering. I just used a lot of not real words.

It is also probably worth mentioning that I’m still thinking of investigating the Royal Court and its importance as a new writing theatre in the creative industry as my case study.

This will tie into Adorno as new writing comments on society in a way that Adorno would support.

It also connects to our more general subject of public art in many ways. For example, I will think about how new writing is accessible to the public (more or less then other types of writing?) and the emphasis the royal court puts on involving the public in new writing (ex. New writers schemes and workshops)
